Recyle Those Old Markers
If you've given up on helping your kids do artwork at home because they keep losing the tops to pens, listen up. One Smart Mom suggests a great way to recycle dried out markers: "Don’t throw them away just yet. All you need to do is wet the tip with warm or hot water, replace the cap, and wait 24 hours."
Apparently, the moisture dries during that time but the replenished ink remains. Voila! Fresh markers. One Smart Mom picked up the idea after a recent family trip to the Crayon Factory in Pennsylvania, where a speaker offered the nugget of advice.
My kids are always leaving tops off markers, so it seems like a great solution for me. I wish I only wish I could "just add water" to replace lost sock mates, mittens and toy parts.
What are your tips for keeping up with crayons and markers?
